Carne Asada
Notes
Try adding a fresh jalapeno.
Try changing the garlic to fresh slices.
Ingredients
- 2 limes
- 1 orange
- 4 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1 bunch chopped fresh cilantro
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 Tablespoons white vinegar
- 1 sweet onion, sliced
- 2 pounds flank steak
Instructions
- Juice the limes and the orange.
- In a gallon freezer bag, combine juice, garlic, cilantro, spices olive oil and vinegar.
- Add steak and onions to the bag and coat.
- Place in a 10×13 glass pan in the refrigerator.
- Marinate 2 to 24 hours, flipping often to redistribute the liquid.
- Heat a barbecue to high.
- Cook for 7 minutes per side with grill open.
- Tent and let rest for 10 minutes.
- Slice against the grain before serving.
