Beef Chop Suey
Ingredients
- 2 pounds sirloin, finely sliced
- 1 head broccoli, cut into florets
- 4 Tablespoons peanut oil
- 2 onions, sliced
- 4 celery stalks, sliced
- 16 ounces snow peas,
- 1 cup canned sliced bamboo shoots
- 1 5-ounce can sliced water chestnuts
- 16 ounces sliced mushrooms
- 2 Tablespoons oyster sauce
- 2 teaspoons salt
- Marinade:
- 4 Tablespoons Shauxing rice wine
- 4 Tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
Instructions
- Combine the marinade ingredients.
- Marinate meat for at least 20 minutes.
- Blanch the broccoli in a large pan of boiling water for 30 seconds.
- Drain and set aside.
- Heat 2 Tablespoons of oil in a large wok.
- Stir fry the beef until cooked.
- Remove and set aside.
- Heat the remaining 2 Tablespoons of oil.
- Cook the onions for 1 minute.
- Add celery and broccoli and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add snow peas, bamboo shoots, chestnuts and mushrooms and cook for 1 minute.
- Add the beef and oyster sauce and stir until warm.
