Onion Rings
Ingredients
- 1 quart vegetable oil
- 1 large sweet white onion, cut into 1/4 inch slices
- 1 1/4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 egg
- 1 cup milk
- 3/4 cup dry bread crumbs
Instructions
- In a small bowl, stir together flour and baking powder.
- Dip onions into the flour mixture and set aside.
- Whisk the egg and milk into the flour mixture with a fork.
- Dip the onions into the batter and place on a wire rack to drain.
- Dip the onions into the breadcrumbs and set aside.
- Heat the oil in an electric skillet to 365 degrees.
- Fry the rings in batches for 3 minutes until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels.
