Slow Cooked Beef Stew
Ingredients
- 3-4 pounds beef round or beef chuck
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 3 carrots, sliced
- 2 celery stalks, sliced
- 6 pearl onions
- 6 small potatoes, peeled and diced
- 8 ounces sliced fresh mushrooms
- 1 can of diced tomatoes (14.5 ounces)
- 1 1/3 cups of beef broth
- 1/2 cup cabernet
- 2 teaspoons brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons Kitchen Bouquet
- 10 ounces frozen peas
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Cut beef into cubes.
- Combine salt, pepper and flour.
- Coat the beef with flour mixture.
- Add carrots, celery, onions, potatoes, mushrooms and tomatoes.
- In a medium bowl, combine broth, wine, brown sugar and Kitchen Bouquet.
- Pour over meat and vegetables.
- Cook on high for 6 hours.
- Add frozen peas.
- Combine water and flour to make a paste and stir into the slow cooker.
- Cook an additional 30 minutes.
